Frugal Friday (Ipsy subscribption)
As a Cosmetologist, I like to have a little bit of knowledge about the many products that are out there. Since a lot of skincare and makeup products are pricey and not always what one is looking for, I am thrilled to see the abundance in beauty subscription boxes.
I've been an IPSY subscriber since 2013. I took a few months off while we moved from Japan back to the United States. Let me say, it's possibly the best $10 that I could spend in a month.
You normally get 5 sample products (some are full size) and all you have to do is fill out a short quiz so that the "beauty experts" can match your style.
I haven't LOVED every single bag, but I've found something that I've LOVED in every single bag.
You can follow my link for more information and how to sign up.
This month's bag features the Gudetama aka Lazy Egg aka my spirit animal. When I lived in Japan, this little dude was every where and I would always buy stationary with his little behind on it. I was so thrilled to see him on a bag. I guess he's becoming more main stream. Way to make me miss living in Japan.
First item: AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream The sample size is 1.3fl and the full size is 3.4fl.
Keeping our hands moisturized is important. We put them through a lot; sunlight, winters without gloves (don't ask), constant washing (hopefully after using the bathroom), etc. They are the tell tale of good skin care.
I give this one a 5/5 (I just made that rating scale up). My hands feel AMAZING right now!
I don't use setting powders often. But I am curious about this one. It's great for photography shoots, just make sure the flash doesn't reveal your work. ;)
5/5 because it's full size and not tested on animals! Yes!
4th item: IBY beauty crease brush a girl can never have too many makeup brushes. The bristles are a little on the soft side, so no hard blending with this one. If I want a nice smokey eye or highlight, I'll use this one. The color is great and just because it says "crease" doesn't mean that's all you can use it for.
I rate this one 4/5 since it's softer than what I normally use.
5th item: Wonderland Gel-Khol Eyeliner Hybrid I have a love/hate relationship with gel eyeliner. A lot of the time it smears and or melts. I don't know if I just have bad luck with them. My eyelids are a little oily too so it doesn't help. However, I'm curious about this one. I haven't tried it yet so I won't rate it. But if you think Khol is too harsh and gel is too wet, this might be for you.
That's all for now! Stick around for next month's bag.

2nd: OFRA Gold Rush Eyeshadow I've received this color before. I don't hate it. I rarely wear gold eyeshadow, but it's great to blend with. The pigment does last a fair amount of time without creasing.
I rate this one 4/5 because it may just sit there in my makeup drawer.
3rd: Bella Pierre Banana Setting Powder this one is a full size item! 4 grams in a $10 bag. The cost on the website is currently at $35. Score!I don't use setting powders often. But I am curious about this one. It's great for photography shoots, just make sure the flash doesn't reveal your work. ;)
